The Porter Cable 7424 Complete Starter Kit includes all the basic tools for spot correction and all over polishing and buffing. The Porter Cable 7424 provides user-friendly, swirl-free polishing while Lake Country foam pads give you a variety of options to suit your vehicle's needs. Start with the Porter Cable 7424 Complete Starter Kit and end with a smooth, flawless finish.
This kit includes Lake Country CCS 6.5 inch Foam Pads. CCS stands for Collapsed Cell Structure. The face of a CCS pad is covered in strategically placed pockets. These pockets are locations where the foam cells have been closed. Polish does not absorb into these closed cell pockets, leaving more product on the pad's surface and on the paint. This polish-saving design gives polishes a longer working time, which results in more successful detailing.
The 4 inch orange foam pads, also by Lake Country, are made of the same imported orange foam as the larger pad. Use the small pads for polishing isolated scratches or small areas, like mirrors or around door handles.

Original Porter Cable 7424 Variable Speed Polisher
Our most popular and most versatile machine! Built to last, this rugged 3.7 amp polisher has 100-percent ball bearing construction. The spiral and bevel gearing provides for smooth operation and efficient transfer of power. A variable speed dial sets the orbit rate between 2,500 and 6,000 orbits per minute for precise control. The speed dial is on the end of the motor, out of the way, preventing accidental changing of the speed. A handy slide switch prevents hand fatigue when the unit must be run for the extended periods of time that polishing operations require. The random orbit action of the special six-inch polishing pad provides a smooth, swirl-free finish. An included side handle fits either the left or right side for maximum comfort. Dual Action 5 Inch Flexible Hook & Loop Backing Plate
Constructed of flexible urethane, this 5 inch backing plate has hook and loop material permanently secured from edge to edge. A recessed edge protects the paint from impact and the post is made of durable stainless steel. The 5/16 inch thread fits any dual action polisher with a corresponding thread. A 5 inch backing plate is recommended for 6.5 inch pads in order to provide a generous margin of error. Should you tilt the polisher or cut in too close to mirrors, the backing plate will not strike the paint.

2 CCS White 6.5 inch Polishing Foam Pads
Less dense foam formula for the application of waxes, micro-fine polishes and sealants. This pad has very light cutting power so its perfect for pre-wax cleaners.

Composition is firm enough to withstand added pressure during final finishing to remove buffer swirls. It has no cut and will apply thin, even coats of waxes, sealants, and glazes.

Pinnacle XMT Polishing Pad Cleaner contains a degreasing agent that breaks up oil and eliminates every last trace of residue. Soap (as in dish soap) can leave a residue of its own, so there is no soap in this cleaner. 3.5 inch Dual Action Flexible Backing Plate
Use the 3.5 inch backing plate with 4 inch foam pads. This plate will last through countless, rigorous uses without falling apart or becoming unbalanced. The reinforced inner construction uses steel struts molded into the center hub to give the plate stability and maintain an even surface for your pad. The Flex Backing Plate minimizes the transfer of heat from the motor to the paint to prevent burning. A beveled edge prevents contact with the vehicle during operation.
